In the spirit of Chicago, our shows will still go on in spite of the cold!

Sanctuary Stories: A Journalism Theater Project

ALL PERFORMANCES ARE AT THE WINDY CITY PLAYHOUSE: 3014 W. IRVING PARK RD.

Through music, videos, photos and live actors, “SANCTUARY STORIES: A JOURNALISM THEATER PROJECT” captures in words and images the lives and communities touched by the immigration crackdown in Chicago.

This “living documentary” is a unique and unprecedented adventure in multimedia storytelling that brings journalism to life. The stories presented by the actors are based on extensive reporting and told verbatim from interview transcripts. And they are presented with vivid documentary video and sound, illustrating the thoughts and storytelling, and showing the Chicagoans behind the stories.

These shows are produced in partnership with the Medill School at Northwestern University and Borderless Magazine, a nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom reporting on and with Chicago’s immigrant communities.

Performances are at 7:00pm on January 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24 at Windy City Playhouse, 3014 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago. Tickets srequired. Click link to purchase.
